Welcome to Kingdom Companions!

Each week we will be looking at a particular passage in the book of Hebrews, or a related passage, and share insights, questions, and observations about the text and topics it addresses. The purpose of this online dialogue is to develop a more practical “community” element in the preaching/teaching ministry of Northside Baptist Church.

It is written, “In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.” (2 Timothy 4:1-2 NIV) Also, “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers…not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” (1 Peter 5:2-5)

In an attempt to be a responsible, relevant shepherd, it is my desire to “talk” with those I serve as I prepare the message/talk from week to week. It is through this weblog that I will attempt to do exactly that: talk!

Each week I will post a new Bible passage, and some thoughts, reflections, observations, etc., to get the discussion started. You can get involved by making comments related to the post or other comments. The process will take some getting used to, but let’s enjoy the journey and see if we can hear the Lord in the process.

To Get Started:

Click the “Blog” box at the top of this page.  Read the Bible text and the posted material. Click the “comments” link at the end of the post which will require a name and email address. Use your first name only, or a screen name. Log your comment and post it to the page. Be sure and check back periodically as you may want to respond to others as the dialogue develops. Enjoy!
